IRGC member Masoud Mosadegh commanded the so-called “Imam Hossein” Brigade of the FARAJA Special Units for years, playing a widespread role in suppressing protests by Tehran’s bazaar merchants on several occasions.
Based on its defined mission description, the primary duty of this brigade was: “crowd control, combating and dealing with protests and illegal gatherings, etc.”
Before being appointed as the Deputy Commander of the Greater Tehran Law Enforcement Force, Masoud Mosadegh served Khamenei and his regime in the position of “Deputy Coordinator of the Greater Tehran Law Enforcement Commander.”
Prior to that, he was stationed in the so-called Tehran Relief Unit for some time, the function of which was serving as an “Operational and Reserve Brigade.”
He also served for a period as the Chief of Staff of the I.R.I. Law Enforcement Force.
IRGC Brigadier General Masoud Mosadegh is one of the main commanders of the suppression and the authority who ordered the massacre of over 16,500 Iranian citizens during the protests of January 2026. He issued and oversaw orders for direct fire with live ammunition, beatings, and violent detentions leading to death to all Special Unit forces across Iran.
